False Prophet Ronald Weinland was in Los Angeles. Even though he was speaking in the second largest metropolitan area in Manasseh and had people attending from San Jose, Utah, El Paso, and Arizona, as well as elder Ralph Dowd, evangelist Terry Wrozek, senior elder Ann Wrozek, and someone from the UK, the spokesman witness was able to speak to everyone present without sound amplification by having them move the chairs closer together.
Ron is looking forward to the elders training session at the end of February. He cautioned his members that they should not travel to Cincinnati that weekend expecting to socialize with the new elders. Nor should they stay in the same hotel with all the new elders, as they need to concentrate on learning their new duties. I can state your duties very succinctly: refer every question to the FAQs on the church website and if that doesn’t work, pass the issue on to Ron. Although Ron did pass the funeral for a member who died this week to senior elder Steve Dalrymple — I guess Ron’s too busy writing blog posts during the week to travel a couple of hundred miles.

urprisingly, Ron did not mention the tragedy unfolding in Haiti due to the severe earthquake experienced there. But maybe not so surprising, since he’s switched from prophecy to the wonders of new doctrine. Looks like we’ll have to wait until Feb 6 for the next dose of new “truth” from God’s end-time Elijah-to-come.
Ron continued on the topic of relationships between the sexes, and their “rolls”. (“Roles” to the rest of us.) According to Ron, it’s against nature for a male to have long hair and for a female to have short hair. So here’s a little quiz. Very funny…I used the Lion/Lioness example for years to question Paul’s reasoning about men and long hair. Just about every example in nature shows the male with the long hair . So not sure where the Apostle Paul lived or what zoos he was visiting. Nature and Paul were out of sync.

The Sixth Thunder was rumbling this morning. The Compass program featuring Ron Weinland was repeated in Australia at 2210 Sunday night their time, which corresponds to early Sunday morning in the US. There was quite an uptick in web traffic to my web site over the past few hours referred from the Australian Google search engine .
Since Ron didn’t come off too well in the Compass program, is this a negative thunder? They recorded him in January 2008 when he was claiming that the Great Tribulation would start in a few months, not a doubt in his mind, as sure as the sun coming up in the morning. One limitation is that the way the program is edited, that’s not clear. Those who were curious and came to my website understand that now.

The Angel of the LORD, who informed Samson’s mother that she would conceive a son, told her that his hair was not to be cut because he would be a Nazirite to God from birth. Those who took the Nazirite vow could not drink wine or cut their hair; they were set apart for service to God. In this case God chose Samson from the womb to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines. I think your point was that if God didn’t have a problem with Samson, or the Nazirites, having long hair, why should it be a problem at all?
Personally, I think Paul may have been referring more to “human nature” than the animal kingdom. Just my opinion, but it seems to me that men usually don’t want to be thought of as being overly concerned with their hair, or deal with the issues involved with long hair; whereas women, as a rule, like to curl, and braid and change their hairstyles, cuts, and colors. Even in this day and age, long hair on men is something you don’t see a lot, and it’s not because of religious beliefs.

Todd, actually angel is wrong. Sampson was a type of “Conan the Barbarian” so he had to wear his hair long. Also he had to wear leather and speak with an Austrian accent. But he did get to carry a big ole sword!

Your wife knows what she’s talking about, I wouldn’t argue with her if I were you. I was watching the birds in my yard this past spring; the males strutted and bowed, puffed themselves up and did everything they could to get a females attention – and after all that they still had to chase her around the yard! Being prettier didn’t make their job any easier.
I don’t know if Samson wore leather or if he carried a sword, but he sure put a hurtin’ on some Philistines with a donkey’s jawbone!

Renditions of Jesus also portray him as effeminate (oh, and usually White). People have him appear how they want him to appear. I don’t know where the long-hair thing started though.

IIRC from decades ago when I had to warm the hard metal folding chairs in HWA’s WCG, the story was that the pictures of Jesus aren’t him but rather someone else Tamuz or something like that. Or that people confuse the town of Nazereth with the Nazerite vow when Nazerites are not specifically from Nazereth.
I personally don’t wear my hair long because it’s a hassle.

The Nazirite vow is explained in Numbers chapter 6, “Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When either a man or woman consecrates an offering to take the vow of a Nazirite, to separate himself to the LORD…” It goes on for several verses, but this was given to the Hebrews before they even entered and took possession of the land of Israel, so it definitely doesn’t have anything to do with Nazareth.
I really don’t think God has an issue with hair, or even what we wear, as long as we use good sense and dress appropriately. In any given society, though, there are standards of decency and what is considered acceptable, and those who don’t abide by them can make it difficult for those who do and are offended in some way. Paul was always trying to get people to be more like-minded, and not unnecessarily offensive; to be considerate of others, and I think that when he commended them for following the “traditions” he had given them, in regard to hair and such, he was letting them know he personally agreed with those traditions and thought there were good reasons for them, but he also didn’t want people arguing and insisting that everyone must abide by them to be a part of the church.

Ummm, actually the Story of Sampson is just a story in a book that also includes stories about talking animals and shrubbery. Anybody that tries to justify either viewpoint regarding hair length in this the 21st Century is seriously misguided.
