More Titles for Ron

False Prophet Ronald Weinland often refers to 2 Thessalonians chapter 2.  According to him, Joseph Tkach Sr was the man of sin and the son of perdition who opened the first seal on Dec 17, 1994.  Let’s read 2 Thes 2:3:

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

Note that this verse does not say that the man of sin, the son of perdition, is the one who causes the falling-away.  Only that he is revealed by it.  Before December of 1994, Ron was just one of many WCG “Ministers”.  Only the breakup of WCG permitted him to strike out to make his own fortune — if WCG had not broken up he would be “Ron Who?”.

And let’s consider verse 4:

Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Ronald Weinland teaches that only he is qualified to interpret the Bible, and that he is qualified to reveal new truth.  He wears the face of God for his followers.  Continuing on in 2 Thess. 2:

:5  Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
:6  And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
:7  For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
:8  And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
:9  Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

Matthew 24 is one of Weinland’s favorite chapters in the Bible, but not because it talks about him.

Mat 24:23  Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
Mat 24:24  For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Tkach’s doctrinal reversal and the falling away that followed revealed the man of sin and the son of perditionRonald Weinland, who sets himself up between his members and God and has increasingly revealed signs and lying wonders.  His sermon on the Last Great Day and those that followed were about signs.  Then he followed up with the lying wonders, claiming to be an apostle and then the Elijah-to-come able to change long-standing doctrines on the ordination of women.  And he has the power to make his followers believe his steaming pile of feces about being a Witness despite the entire lack of evidence and abject failures of his prophecies.

Ronald Weinland the Man of Sin and the Son of Perdition.  Spokesman of the Two Witnesses.  Insane Lying False Prophet.  Apostle.  End Time Elijah.  Have I missed any titles?  Probably.

A New Title for Laura, Too?

Spokesman Witness, Apostle, Elijah-to-come and False Prophet Ronald Weinland has promised yet new revelation in his sermon this weekend, both in last weekend’s sermon and this week’s blog posting:

Beginning this Sabbath, the Church will take another big step forward in doing that commission given to it in this end-time. ……  This Sabbath God is beginning the process of restoring things that have been removed from mankind since the days of Adam and Eve.

eveMy speculation is that it will be a change in Laura’s status.  If so, will Ron tell Laura to stop cackling at his lame jokes, citing the following scriptures?

1 Corinthians 14:34  Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
1 Corinthians 14:35  And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

1 Timothy 2:11  Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
1 Timothy 2:12  But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

I rather doubt it.  He’s more likely to elevate her status.  But she already is ordained as prophetess and placed just below him over the church, so what more can he do?  Apostless? Elijah-to-comess? Maybe she won’t be the Silent Witness anymore?  Ron could have her do the next radio interview, which would amplify the 6th Thunder of the 6th Seal — now that would get some media attention as I don’t think there’s ever been a woman who claimed to be one of the end-time witnesses.

What has been removed from mankind since the days of Adam and Eve?  Will Laura be giving Ron an apple she got from a snake? Will Ron be recreating Eden by setting up a nudist commune for his members?

Inquiring minds want to know.  But we’ll all have to tune in at 2:30 Eastern Time to find out.

Weinland Pads His Resume Yet Again

False Prophet Ronald Weinland was in Georgia yesterday for yet another big announcement.  The last time he was to be there, Ron was a no-show claiming illness on that day of judgment on the 40th sabbath of the Great Tribulation, the Feast of Trumpets, and the end of the “time” before the real “times”.

As reported by Jack and Gavin, Rotten Ronnie has expanded his CV yet again, now claiming “I also am an Elijah-to-come”.  To hear it from his own lying lips, download the sermon from the PKG website and start listening beginning at 51 minutes into the file.  (If the link is broken, navigate to the audio page on the PKG website and download it.  Also if the sermon file link is broken, the file has probably been edited to remove announcements and/or other misstatements in which case the statement of interest would be a few minutes earlier).

To set the stage for his big announcement, Ronnie meandered through an article written by his spiritual idol, Herbert Armstrong in the March 6, 1981 Worldwide News  [8MB PDF download].  In this article, on page 10, 3rd paragraph of the 3rd column, Armstrong wrote:

I have been asked “Are you the Elijah?” And I say “No.”

That would be a reference to Malachi 4:5 “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD:” However, in the WWN article following Herbie’s denial,  he seemed to claim the Elijah title without coming out and directly stating it, likening himself to John the Baptist.  This just prior to putting out another call for money to pay for quality for God’s end-time Apostle.  In any case, Weinland wrote in 2008 God’s Final Witness (page 162): “God’s end-time apostle and prophesied “Elijah to come” was Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong.”

At 1 hour, 8 minutes and 45 seconds in yesterday’s sermon recording, Ron squeezes in “I am the final fulfillment of the Elijah-to-come”.  So Ron is not only “an” Elijah-to-come, he is the final one.  I imagine he could easily proof-text for his followers that there can be more than one of “the” Elijah’s-to-come, should one of them think to ask about it.

Ron is certainly reducing his cycle time for adding titles.  He became a prophet in 1997 or 1998, according to various statements.  Yet he didn’t make an announcement of this to his church until 2002.  Then in 2005 he decided that he and the missus are the end-time witnesses and waited a couple of months before announcing it to his church.  Just five weeks ago he added the claim of being an Apostle after God “put it in his mind” just a few weeks earlier.  And now today he adds the title of the final Elijah-to-come.  There is an ever reducing cycle between adding titles. Since Ronnie can’t dazzle his members with brilliance, he’s baffling them with BS.

There were a few interesting asides before starting the sermon.  At one point he thought that Laura was giving him a warning look as though he was about to say something we wasn’t supposed to .  Is Ron a puppet dancing to Laura’s string pulls?  I doubt it, but expect that he needs her to keep him from chewing on his foot in any more often than he does.

His newest evangelist, Terry Wrozek, was brought down from Jackson, Michigan so that Ron could meet with him and senior evangelist Johnny Harrell.  On the agenda were discussions of the new yet unannounced doctrine, and things in addition to doctrine.  Ron needed to get his evangelists on board with the new changes before rolling them out over the next few weeks.  Could these “additional things” have anything to do with the IRS investigation? I doubt that Ronnie’s flight to the beast power is imminent, since even if the investigation were complete, there will still be a review process within the IRS and an additional review by the Department of Justice’s tax division before a referral would be made to a US attorney.  Nevertheless, he could be positioning himself should his legal position deteriorate.

It’s now 52 weeks since Ron cursed me with a speedy death for criticizing him, but somehow I expect I’ll still be around to find out what amazing new doctrines he promises to reveal to his followers.

Awesome Revelations

False Prophet Ronald Weinland spoke in Bloomington, Illinois today.  He drug along his elders Ralph Dowd and Ken Zitt from Cincinnati to say the prayers and help fill up the meeting room.  I wonder if he also brought along Chris and Audra as he did last week to Erie and if they again went out for hot wings after services, or if Bloomington even has such a place.

Ron is excited about awesome new revelations coming down the pike, to be delivered in about 3-4 weeks leading up to the end of the first half of his shortened time on February 6 for which a church-wide fast has been proclaimed.  Given that Ron’s new revelations involve numbers and novel interpretations of the Bible, he probably has two screens connected to his computer, with Excel on one screen to work out the number of days between different dates, and E-Sword with Strong’s Greek and Hebrew dictionaries on the other screen to select possible meanings of words which best suit him.

Ron again took a tour through history, talking about “duck and cover” drills school children were given in the ’50’s to prepare for “nukular” attacks. Stanley Rader was used in 1979 by God to defend WCG against California Attorney General Deukmejian, but no mention of the tithe and offering money that ended up in Stan’s pocket.   Ralph Dowd was ordained in September of 1986 when Ron was assigned in Cincinnati as associate pastor, Terry Wrozek was ordained as an elder in April of 1998 and Johnny Harrell during the Feast of Tabernacles held that year at Niagara Falls.

Ron repeated the mention of the trip to Europe in November 1999 and being hosted by Benjamin and Grace in their London apartment.  Also repeated his claim that 19 were in attendance in contradiction to his statement in December of 1999 that 12 were there including 3 children.  Maybe the 10 virgins were hiding in the next room making it a total of 19 adults.  Benjamin committed the unpardonable sin not only of being on Facebook but also trying to recruit other PKG members to be his Facebook “friends”.

Jan2000NWWeinland also continued his tour through some old News Watch periodicals he published intermittently from 1998 through 2002.  Issues mentioned were:

  • December, 1999 in which he prophesied that Y2K would be a non-Event, which was pretty safe at that point given the massive effort to update all the software.
  • January, 2000 in which he rolled out the new name of the church in the banner and a new PO Box to which it seems his elders had not agreed.
  • February-March, 2000 in which a 2nd new PO Box was obtained because of the split.
  • Third Quarter of 2001 which was the start of a 4-parter proving that we’re in the end times.
  • First Quarter of 2002, Ron still didn’t understand that 9/11 was the opening of the 6th seal when he wrote this.
  • Third Quarter of 2002, This was the last issue of News Watch. Shortly after this, Ron opened the Swiss bank accounts. The following year he published his 4-color booklet “Time Has Run Out” and then went on to write his books.

Ron took News Watch off his website back in 2003, but threatens to put them back on.  However, you can download PDFs of these issues now using the links above.

Near the end of the sermon, Ron indicated that he is going to exercise his newly recognized office of Apostle by adding new doctrine.  A doctrine which he announced up front is not in the Bible, either — Old Testament or New Testament. PKG members will be expected to march in formation turning to the left or right as directed by Drill Instructor Ronald Weinland.   Being an Apostle, he is entitled to invent new doctrine just like the Apostles in the New Testament.  But then the Insane Liar invented his position as an Apostle in the first place, just as he invented his position as a Prophet of the God of Abraham.  He will no longer be bound by novel interpretations of scripture, he can just make it all up.  He expects that a few will leave the church.  I hope a lot of PKG members will leave, but I expect that most of his followers will continue chugging down the Flavor Aid to wash it all down.  Wonder if this will be better than his “no Facebook” doctrine.

Ron needs to use more smoke and mirrors to distract his followers from the lack of Great Tribulation.  December 14 (Monday) is one year from the first non-start of the Great Tribulation in the second timeline.  It’s now 12 weeks since the second non-start on the Feast of Trumpets.  Since I’ve made it now 51 weeks without suffering the speedy death Weinland cursed me with, I expect I’ll be around a few more weeks to hear what amazing new bull Ron has to share.  (I would have used a different word than “bull”, but listening to the false prophet is rubbing off on me 😉 )

They’re Picking on Me

False Prophet Ronald Weinland spoke yesterday from the Netherlands, on his second trip there during this year of Great Tribulation.  Ron delivered the sermon standing up instead of sitting as he normally does.  He described the TV program on Canada’s Vision TV network Friday night featuring the false prophet, including a post-presentation interview during which it came out that at the End it would be Ron Vs the pope.

Ron reiterated that he is both an apostle AND a prophet.  He is in rarefied company with the only other person in history having held both titles being John.  Ron spent some time defining the difference between the two roles.   An apostle reveals new doctrines, which Ron did during the 2005 feast with his origin-of-Christ doctrine.  A prophet — well a prophet prophesies.

Ron took some time to mention his critics, calling us vultures and mockers picking on him.  Which isn’t happening to other groups.  Well Ron, none of the other splinters has put out a specific date.  None of the other splinters is headed by someone claiming to be an End-Time Witness.  And none of the other splinters is headed by someone under criminal investigation.

The presence of “vultures” is a proof of PKG as the true church.  We’re doing this because we were put out of the church.  This is simply not true, at least not in my case.  I was not put out of the church.  Nor were any of Ron’s other critics as far as I know.

He again cautioned his followers against websites like mine.  Or listening to a relative who will point out websites like mine or any other website critical of him  He responded to an article posted on MSNBC and other websites during the last week or so which reads:

According to God’s Church minister Ronald Weinland, the end times were upon us — again. His 2006 book “2008: God’s Final Witness” stated that hundreds of millions of people will die, and by the end of 2006, “there will be a maximum time of two years remaining before the world will be plunged into the worst time of all human history. By the fall of 2008, the United States will have collapsed as a world power, and no longer exist as an independent nation.” As the book noted, “Ronald Weinland places his reputation on the line as the end-time prophet of God.”

This was characterized as “feces”. Think of all the thunders, like a downpour in the UK that caused some flooding.  Ron, shame on you.  As a witness you were supposed to stop it from raining.  It turns out that the US is not an independent nation because we trade with other nations and send ambassadors to them.  I thought this was always the case, but I must have been imagining what is only a recent development.  The world is in the worst time of all human history, we’re just not aware of it yet.  Things that didn’t happen in his book don’t make the book false.

Ron took a trip down memory lane, repeating his claim of having resigned from UCG on Pentecost of 1997 (June 15 that year) which contradicts his own writings of 1998 that the resignation had been on May 30, 1997.  Not only does Ron reinvent the future as circumstances require, he does the same with the past. Then he talked about his “Newswatch” periodical published intermittently during 1998 through 2002, and his two booklets “Time is Running Out” and “Time has Run Out”.  Ending with his latest book which his father-in-law Carroll Short encouraged him to write as he was dying of liver cancer.  Ron wrote all of this material despite hating to write and not being good at the English language.  He failed to mention Larry Spivey who spent a lot of time and suffered a lot of abuse editing his prose.

The Great Tribulation will be less than 2 1/2 years but will come to pass.  He warned against interpreting his prophetic writings in “2008 – God’s Final Witness” in a literal physical way — it will all come to pass in its time. Being written in a prophetic manner makes it hard to understand his books. Stay tuned for Ron to provide the interpretation as the process develops.  He acknowledged that the timing of events has changed, because of the 50th truth, but insists that it’s all going to come true in God’s time.

Ron has practically given up on prophesying because he doesn’t have the foggiest notion what’s going to happen next as God hasn’t revealed it to him.  It will be revealed to him at the same time it’s revealed to the rest of us — when it happens.  He hasn’t called down any plagues or stopped the rain.  Nor have his death curses had any effect as I’m still alive 48 weeks later after he issued one against me. Some witness!!! Ron, I think God fired you and forgot to send you a pink slip.

Apostle Ronald Weinland

Back in August, False Prophet Ronald Weinland stated that if not a prophet he was certainly an apostle, but that he believed he was only a prophet. Speaking today from Bowling Green, KY he added to his C.V., boldly stating “I am an apostle”.  Makes sense, I suppose — he’s not doing very well at the prophecy thing so he needs a fall back position.  He claims this came as a revelation from God put directly into his mind while Laura was driving them to Detroit.  To be clear, he hasn’t (yet) given up on his claims to be the Spokesman of the Two Witnesses and a prophet of the God of Abraham.

Ron also did some revisions of prior timelines.  Today, he claimed that he became both an apostle and a prophet on Pentecost of 1998 (though he didn’t realize it until later).  He needs to read his own blog, on which speaking about himself in the third person, he states: “Although the Church of God has not been accustomed to having a prophet for nearly 1900 years, God made him a prophet in 1997.”  He also claimed that he resigned from UCG on Pentecost of 1997.  According to Ambassador Reports and Servants News, he resigned from UCG on May 26, 1997 which is a Monday.  I don’t have the exact day for Pentecost of 1997 (could anyone help me out?) but since Herbie changed Pentecost from Monday to Sunday it couldn’t have been that day. The following was published on Ron’s old website, “” some time in 1998:

In January of 1997, I addressed several issues of ethics, concerning the administration of UCG,aIA, with Council Members, Home Office staff, and the conference of elders. Those issues were not being answered nor openly addressed by UCG,aIA. Highest on the list was the mismanagement and improper depletion of reserves by $4.5M within one year. In most corporations there would by outrage, firings, and possible prosecution for such action. But within UCG,aIA there was no such reaction. Instead, there was a concerted effort to cover, excuse, and hush the truth. After waiting until the General Conference of Elders Meeting in Louisville, Kentucky in March, those issues were still not being addressed and I again sought action from the Council of Elders to take proper control of the Home Office according to the Constitution and Bylaws. After several months of inaction from UCG,aIA, I resigned May 30, 1997.

May 30, 1997 was a Friday, which never was a day of the week for Pentecost.  So not only does Ron revise his prophetic timelines, he also revises historical timelines to suit.

UPDATE: According to the UCG, Pentecost of 1997 was on June 15 — more than two weeks from the closest date given for the false prophet’s resignation.

Ron promises a new post on his blog proclaiming his apostleship, and two new interviews in the near future.  He’s back to claiming that interviews are training sessions for him, from his detour claiming that interviewers brow-beat him into specific prophecies during his first timeline.  Speaking of the sixth thunder, Weinland has been featured on

Ron claims that this blog and others like it that criticize him validate PKG as the true church, proof texting from Luke 17:37: “And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles [vultures] be gathered together.” Ron jokingly stated that he wished the Internet didn’t exist.  He asked why are there blogs criticizing him and not blogs criticizing other COG splinters, and then answered his own question: “They’re not as far out in left field as you, son (Weinland)”.  If this is reverse-psychology ploy to get me to stop, it’s not working.  If there were no blogs about Weinland there would be no mention of this verse and his misinterpretation of it.  I believe that Ron is actually tickled to have my blog critical of him, putting him in the same category with his spiritual idol Herbert Armstrong who also has many websites critical of him.  Perhaps that’s why I still haven’t suffered a speedy death from the inside according to the curse Ron put on me 47 weeks ago.
