As False Prophet Ronald Weinland finishes his last year in prison, PKG gets smaller and smaller — but probably will not hit zero.
Just this week I received an email from a now former PKG member, having just left this weekend. Here is his email in it’s entirety with the exception of redacting his last name. Those PKG members from East coast near Pennsylvania should recognize who it is.
—————- Bill’s email ———————————–
Hi Mike,
Whew! Where do I begin??
Well, let me first let you know that I as of last Sunday, I sent a letter to the ministry that I no longer wished to be part of PKG. In fact, I sent it to four people. Patty Dalrymple being the head one I sent it to. She then forwarded it on to Johnny, who made an announcement a couple days ago letting everyone know that I disfellowshipped myself, and that no one should contact me.
OK, a little background about myself—-I was really taken in by Ron’s book “2008: God’s Final Witness” back in April of that year. I was impressed by what he had written as things seem to be well said as to what was going on in the world. It would take a while, but I began to attend services in December of ’08 and was baptized the following February. When May 27, 2012 didn’t happen like it was “supposed” to, I was of course VERY disappointed as I had left a long time job as I figured “well the job won’t be around so why not put in the resignation?”
Big mistake because when May 27th came and went, of course I had no job to go back to. Fortunately, about a month later, I was able to find another job, and have been there since. I soldered on though believing what Ron had to say about why things didn’t pan out and looked forward to the next year. My eyes began to be opened up however as I along with a bunch of others were invited to The Weinland’s home during the Feast of 2012.
There was about 20 folks at a time during that week that were coming in [from the feast site in Lexington] to hear Ron either give the sermon, or hear the prerecorded one………..I don’t remember which. What I DO remember was how absolutely fabulous their house was! Their home was no palace by any means but it was in a very exclusive neighborhood, and I couldn’t help but notice the his ‘n’ hers BMW’s in the garage.
A thought went through my mind——I don’t live this way, and I’m struggling………struggling mightily! It was particularly a hardship to get to the Feast that year as I didn’t have enough money to pay for a room and it was too late to ask for “assistance”. Only by the good graces of a couple brethren, I was asked to share the room with them with no cost to me. I did help drive on the way out (I’m in Central PA) so that took a big burden off of me.
Fast forward to the present………….this past year I’ve been dealing with severe dental issues to where eating a number of things at this past Feast was sometimes pure torture! I’m in great need of having ALL of my teeth pulled (16) and getting a full set of dentures. A thought struck me recently when it occurred to me that “wait a minute” Laura saw me at the Feast, and she also saw me another time recently when she, Johnny and Myrtle Harrell came to Ashland, VA for a formal service, and she saw me yet another time when I made the trip to Cincy to see Wayne and Chris Matthews right after this past Thanksgiving. Now I’m a hard guy to miss——I’m a big football player type, and Laura had to have noticed that most of my upper teeth are missing……….It’s VERY noticeable when I’m smiling! 🙂
Nothing was said however as far as “Bill are you able to take care of that?” “Do you need help getting your teeth and gums taken care of?”
I wasn’t asking for help, but sometimes a little acknowledgement can go a long way. I do have dental insurance, but it’s the type that you have to pay the initial cost upfront, and then they’d reimburse you 50%. Well this is all going to cost $2820 after it’s all said and done as I recently had a dental appt at years end. Someone in the church had offered to pay for the cost initially, but then said that they spoke to Steve Dalrymple about getting assistance, and he said for me to get three quotes for maybe something cheaper.
I said huh?? Where I went IS the cheapest place as the place is called Affordable Dentures and I’m not sure how Steve got involved in the first place as I hadn’t gone to the church in the beginning to ask anyone for anything. So this individual was in a way backing out, and got the church involved. I was a little peeved at that as I REALLY hate to ask anyone for anything. If someone offers that might be a different story, but this person getting a third party involved changed the dynamics for me.
I then came to the conclusion that if I’m going to take care of this, it’s going to have to be on my own without the church! I don’t live in a over quarter million dollar home, I don’t drive a BMW, I don’t get to travel all over the world and stay in nice hotels, I don’t get to do any of that! So maybe, just maybe if I weren’t sending over 20% + (that includes keeping second tithe) of my income to the church, I MIGHT be able to get the needed dental work done, and keep on going.
So that’s what I did………..sent them a letter letting them know I was no longer going to fellowship with the church.
Interesting comment made on your blog……….indeed the Feast site has been reduced to just one place this year which is in Cincinnati. Ron has once again changed things and “Christ’s return” isn’t until 2019. What on earth are folks in PKG going to do if that then doesn’t pan out??
Now that doesn’t mean that something won’t happen then, but I doubt it’ll happen as the way Ron has said it.
Just to let you know also, when I sent out the letter, I got nary a response back from anyone letting me know that they’re sorry that I feel this way, or if they’re something that they could have done.
Oh well, just shows to go ya how far “compassion” can go.
Anyway, thanks for hearing me out…….I suspect as time rolls on and things may get dragged out even longer, more and more folks will leave PKG and not look back. As for myself, I’m not going with any other groups——-things will be have to be shown to me in 3D for me to believe anything that they say. Mere words and “promises” aren’t cuttin’ it any longer. I went through a similar situation 30 years ago when I was in my mid 20’s with Jehovah’s Witnesses, and I don’t intend to go through it again.
There’s so much more I can tell you, but I’m sure your time is limited. To the relationships/marriages that have broken up, to financial difficulties that people have endured, to the things I heard Laura gossiping about, to a possible death that was related to PKG.
You take care Mike and I may post something on your blog later on.
Sincerely,
Bill

From Mike’s Post: “After declaring in 2007 that there wouldn’t be a feast in 2008, and that members should send in their 2nd tithes to him.”
Wow, I had forgotten about this – I think this is the period of time when the spending spree really took off i.e. Mediterranean Cruise, BMW’s etc.
Interestingly, this is also about the time when the ‘business cards’ came out to PKG members to pass onto other prospective members/tithers (former WWCG) and provide a free copy of Ronnie’s book GFW2008. I was contacted in November 2007.
Randy, I am glad you posted the list of some of Ronnie’s lies & failed prophecies. We tend to forget over time. It may help anyone who is contemplating leaving PKG to make a decision to do so.

There is another possibility: Maybe Weinland wants to shut down the Feast sites because it’s too much work and drains away money — it would be so much easier to just ‘coast’ on the money for his Luxury Fund by having his remaining faithful flock send in money and get absolutely nothing.
It may be risky business, but Weinland has never been one to avoid taking chances, especially since his counting on his own charisma has been so successful with a qualified subset of cult members.
But of course, there’s no denying that if the membership falls sufficiently, no Feast should be forthcoming, since Weinland doesn’t want the membership of the PKG to realize how few left they are….

Hi to all,
I have not been on here for awhile as I don’t care for people blaming God for what a man has done. We are all responsible for our own actions. GOD IS ALIVE AND WELL! I read the post of our latest retiree from PKG. I am so glad that there is still hope for some to come to their senses. I did not leave because of the coffee. I am attaching a copy of the letter I sent directly to Ron and Laura. It is a little lengthy but I think it will let some on this blog see that we left for all the right reasons. Please read to the end, I know it is long
The remainder of Donna’s comment is moved to it’s own post
